Jacket stands up for itself

Problem: During drycleaning a white jacket with plasticised coating became so brittle and shrunken that, after drying it could stand up by itself.
Cause: This coating used a plasticiser which was leached out by the cleaning fluid.
Responsibility: This jacket was labelled for normal cleaning so the blame clearly rests with the garment maker.
Carrying out a simple test on a prototype would have avoided this problem.
