On 30 April, Bates of London celebrated the opening of its dedicated laundry which will serve the upmarket Hub by Premier Inn in Covent Garden as well as other Premier Inn hotels within London.
David and Matthew Pantlin, Bates chairman and managing director, were joined for the occasion by 60 guests including the Leader of Waltham Forest Council, Councillor Chris Robbins, and Councillor Clare Coghill, Council Cabinet member for economic growth.

Members of the management team from Whitbread, which owns Premier Inn, attended as did Bates' partners in the project, Datamars, LM Computers and Girbau UK.

The project is notable for its introduction of RFID technology to identify and track linen and guests were given a demonstration of how this would work.

The Bates bus, well known in London, was brought out for the occasion and used to transport guests to and from the local underground station.
