CLEAN wins Green Apple award

Leading independent hospitality laundry provider CLEAN has secured a coveted Green Apple award for Environmental Best Practice from one of the world’s most respected recognition schemes for environmental endeavour.

From over 500 entries from a variety of industries within the private and public sectors, judges were impressed by Clean’s pioneering commitment to sustainability and investment in state-of-the-art equipment, processes and systems, which has seen the company reduce its overall carbon footprint by 39%.

Since opening its £15million Slough super-laundry earlier this year, Clean has continued to develop its Environmental Management System to it fulfils its green responsibilities throughout all laundry sites by optimising energy, water and chemical consumption.

The awards, which are supported by the Environment Agency, the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and other independent bodies, will be presented at a glittering ceremony at the Houses of Parliament on 6 November.

Clean is now eligible to become a Green World Ambassador where the company will represent the UK in the Green World Awards 2018 – the leading sustainability programme playing a vital part in helping others to help the environment.
