British eco cleaning-chemical manufacturer, Delphis Eco, which partners laundries, hotels and cleaning contractors, has pioneered what it claims to be the world’s first 100% post-consumer recycled plastic packaging. The company, the holder of two Royal Warrants, has worked with the UK’s leading waste collectors to produce recycled plastic granules from HDPE plastic from which to form its new 100% PCR packaging.
The new Delphis Eco packaging is what is termed ‘food grade quality.’ It is totally robust and has been declared entirely ‘fit for purpose’ following rigorous tests to ensure its suitability and durability. It is now being introduced in the company’s inner wrapper for laundry washing powders, as well as the bottles for its broader cleaning chemical ranges.
CEO, Mark Jankovich, says: “This is a pivotal point for the cleaning and laundry sectors and has the potential to go far beyond into consumers’ day to day lives. It has taken five years to get to this point, and the journey is still just beginning when it comes to creating a movement to increase the world’s level of recycling from between 5% - 7%, to 10% and beyond. What we have done here is prove that it can be done!”
