Staff from chemicals manufacturer Christeyns supported Bradford’s Dragon Boat Festival in Saltaire, where a hardy crew of rowers braved the waters to raise money for local charities.

A total of 110 teams from across the region took part in the Race the Dragon event on the River Aire and the money raised went towards the Lord Mayors Appeal, supporting the Down Syndrome Training and Support Services and the Wishing Well Appeal.

The Christeyns Cruisers, a team of 16, made it to the finish line without capsizing, led from the front by drum-beating cox Beki Williams.

Christeyns raised over £1,300 for the Appeal and also assisted in the provision of the pontoon used for the three-day event.
