Exporting can boost profits and is easier than ever to do, provided you do your research first, according to panellists at Business Insider International Trade Breakfast event in Cardiff, Wales last month. The panel featured Ross Weir, managing director of laundry equipment manufacturer H J Weir.
“International competition is a spur to higher quality, said Weir. “When you’re exporting machines around the world, you’ve got to make sure those products leave the door absolutely perfect. We also receive good feedback from customers around the world, which we develop into our products.”
Also on the panel were Alex-Michelle Parr of Wolfestone; Chris Meadows of IQE; Nigel Payne, honorary consul for Slovakia in Wales; and Wedad Kurukgy of UK Export Finance.
