Fill – an eco concept with plenty of bottle

UK
Phillip (Phill) Kalli, from family run British professional laundry product maker Ideal, is feeling fulfilled as his refillable Fill concept (many years in the making) becomes a true zero-waste closed loop solution.

Fill could appeal to eco-conscious high street wetcleaning operations looking to extend their offering as they diversify in order to mitigate the effects of Covid-19 on their businesses.

He explains: “Fill is a range of refillable eco laundry and household cleaning products that look cool, work great and eliminate plastic packaging waste. Supplied in 500ml screen-printed glass bottles and jars, return for refill 10l bag-in-box, returnable 20l post-consumer recycled (pcr) refills, bulk 200l (we can also do 600l & 1000l) containers that we pick up and refill for a zero-waste closed loop solution.

“We make everything ourselves, at our own family-run factory in Northamptonshire with our chemists combining biodegradable ingredients to create simple, modern and effective eco cleaning and laundry products. No dyes. No harsh chemicals. No single use plastic bottles. Less waste.

“Fill is for everyone who’s interested in a better way to clean. We set out to create the type of straightforward eco products that we wanted to use, in glass bottles, so they won’t get thrown away. It’s the real thing, we really are taking back glass. bottles just like milk. We’ve even bought a new bottle washing machine.”

“The bottle washing machine can also wash out 20L drums - so the plan is to roll this out onto smaller laundry packs too - so we’ll be walking the walk! We think it's the first machine in the UK doing this for a detergent supplier, and I’m so proud that we’re doing this. We’ve launched the first closed loop delivery service for household cleaning and laundry products in the UK… from our factory to doorsteps around the UK…and back again. It’s been nearly 10 years of dreaming, two years of planning but now it’s finally happening!”

The Fill concept has been taken up by eco-centric doorstep home delivery service Milk & More. Read more here https://www.milkandmore.co.uk/our-suppliers/fill
