French laundries demand more support from government

8 January 2021

FRANCE
CINET reports that, according to the French textile care association L’Entretien Textile, laundry businesses with more than 50 employees are not receiving the same support from France’s Government as small and medium enterprises (SME’s). This puts these companies at a disadvantage in the fight to survive Covid-19 constrictions which could ultimately cost up to 9,000 jobs. Estimate show that one third of these companies could not survive the current second lockdown.

Revenue losses in most cases are running around 60%. In their call for government support support, the laundries underlined their essential role and hard work since the start of the pandemic crisis.
