Hospital laundry conference will examine topical themes

The Society of Hospital Linen Service and Laundry Managers' conference will take place on 22 and 23 April at the Tankersley Manor Hotel, near Barnsley, Yorkshire, and the provisional programme lists some highly topical themes.

Conference delegates will hear how Trusts can improve patient care and increase their score in the patient-led PLACE assessment scheme; how they can work with laundry contractors to get the best service and save money; and how one trust saved £140Kper year on mattress covers and improved patient safety by doing so.

Reducing linen losses will also be on the agenda.

In addition to the conference, there will be a training forum and exhibition.

In response to a difficult financial situation, the society has reduced delegate fees and said there will be initiatives to help key healthcare linen professionals attend.
