As the Covid-19 health crisis rapidly swept across the world, Hydrofinity and its partners quickly adapted to help fight the pandemic.

Hydrofinity supplies washing machines to laundries and hotels via a network of partners and while washing and disinfecting textiles is always important, under current circumstances it is crucial to help contain the spread of the novel Coronavirus.

Washing PPE for key workers in France
French Hydrofinity partner, Georges SAS, is now using its Xeros-enabled washing machines to clean fabric face masks worn by French key workers, (see photograph, right).

Georges SAS has put in place a programme with SNCF in Lyon to clean and sterilise up to 25,000 masks each week. SNCF workers each have their own masks, which are individually tracked and traced throughout their lifecycle.

Karine Da Silva, chair of Georges SAS said: "Our partnership with Hydrofinity from Xeros is fundamental. We could not imagine choosing an alternative to their technology to create and develop Georges. Through our partnership we have been able to convince the largest French companies such as SNCF, Air France and Renault to be our customers.

Hydrofinity's technical expertise has also enabled us to be extremely responsive in this time of COVID-19 in France. We were able to guarantee safe and efficient cleaning for our customers, and it has been a determining element to win new contracts and be able to take care of fabric masks in these times."

Hiring face masks in South Africa
Hydrofinity’s partner in South Africa, Fanute, has expanded from hiring linen for hospitality to hiring face masks for employers and schools. The South African government has mandated that employers provide each employee with 2 face masks so Fanute's face mask rental programme takes away the hassle and the risk of ineffective after-care. Their owned and operated industrial laundries, featuring Xeros-enabled washing machines, use industry standard technologies and chemicals to kill 99.99% of germs, including COVID-19.

Supplying hand sanitiser in the United Kingdom
Many Hydrofinity UK laundry customers have remained open to wash key worker uniforms and PPE, and Hydrofinity’s chemistry partner, Zep, has continued to supply chemistry to Hydrofinity customers.

They have done this while also managing a tremendous increase in demand for Covid-19 effective hand and surface sanitiser products. The company has worked tirelessly with new and existing suppliers to effectively fulfil this demand - and as supplied all the hand and surface sanitiser at the Xeros Technology Centre in Rotherham here Hydrofinity is based.

Supporting customers
During these uncertain times, Hydrofinity remains committed to doing whatever is necessary to minimise disruption. Because of this, engineers at UK service partners Wash Co have been available in all regions to support with any technical or service needs. Health and safety is a top priority so full PPE is worn on all call outs and social distancing rules are followed.

Mike Ferrand, managing director, Hydrofinity, said: “We are proud to work with our partners who support key workers and the remarkable people on the frontline of this crisis by ensuring they have clean PPE to wear. All of our wash cycles can operate to the temperature required, and the chemistry used is industry-proven to produce clean and sanitised laundry.

“Right now, more than ever, Hydrofinity are fully committed to their employees, partners, customers and suppliers, and we would like to thank everyone who is fighting tirelessly to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus that causes Covid-19. We are confident that we’ll get through this crisis, together
