The Society of Hospital Linen Service and Laundry Managers has announced the details of its annual Professional Development Forum and Exhibition Programme, which will take place on Tuesday 1 May to Thursday 3 May at the Tankersley Manor Hotel, Barnsley in Yorkshire. The event will feature the inaugural awards for service to linen services and to the society, with an awards night on Wednesday 2 May.

There is a Training Day on 1 May designed for supervisors and managers wishing to develop their careers within linen services or for managers whose responsibilities include linen services. It gives a brief outline of all aspects of the linen service procurement cycle and covers, in detail, those areas where checks are required. A certificate of attendance will be issued to all delegates who attend.

The cost of attending the day is £125.00 and overnight accommodation is available at the venue hotel for those wishing to stay over.

On the following day, on Wednesday 2 May, the Society will hold its annual conference and exhibition 2018 at the same venue.

Aimed at NHS and commercial laundry and linen services professionals, the one-day training forum includes a variety of informative papers on topical subjects, which exhibitors are welcome to attend and take part in. Full delegate registration is £125, with accommodation available at extra cost.

In addition, the Society is introducing an awards presentation, where individuals, companies and organisations will be placed in the spotlight.

This will not only provide some light entertainment following a day long business session, but will also recognise achievements which sometimes appear to go unnoticed, said national officer Ian Hargreaves. The awards are

·  Golf – winner

·  Innovative manager

·  Showing shop floor excellence

·  Innovative company / product

·  Lifetime achievement
