Lynx eyes national growth through Alex Reid partnership

Essex-based dry cleaning and laundry supplies specialist, Lynx, announces it has entered a partnership with Alex Reid to become the UK’s leading provider of consumables and cleaning chemicals to laundry and dry cleaning customers nationwide. As of 31 March 2018 the Alex Reid business will cease to trade and Lynx will handle the supply of general consumables to all Alex Reid’s current customers, initially adding sales of £2m.

Prior to this date, Alex Reid will be operating as normal, supported by Lynx, and all current customers will be contacted with updates on the changes.

The partnership with Alex Reid sees Lynx take responsibility for the supply of consumer cleaning chemicals and sundries for all Alex Reid’s independent customers.

Lynx will now be the sole distributors of Seitz in England and Wales.  From their London base, Lynx predominantly service customers in the South East but have long harboured plans to develop their UK wide business.

Set up in 2005, Lynx Dry Cleaning Supplies offer a comprehensive range of dry cleaning and laundry items, from leading international brands such as DOW, Cole & Wilson, Avery Dennison and Dylon.

“This partnership is an enormous opportunity for Lynx to grow both our brand and customer base nationally and internationally,” said Maz Iqbal, director at Lynx. “Alex Reid is very much a complimentary fit for Lynx. Taking on their customer base means we will be able to further increase both our product range and geographical market, our two most important business objectives.”

Stuart Fullerton, general manager, Alex Reid, said: “Choosing the right partner for this change has been a carefully considered process but in the end we felt Lynx were the perfect service led organisation to take on the Alex Reid customers who we know will be in very good hands.”
