The Drycleaning and Laundry Institute celebrated its 110th anniversary with a new logo, one that is designed to provide a more visual representation of the institute’s function.
DLI commissioned BeCreative 360, an industry marketing firm based in Orange, California, to create a new logo. Along with this rebranding, members will receive new window cling membership decals.
DLI began life in 1907 as the National Association of Dyers and Cleaners. By 1953, it had evolved into the National Institute of Drycleaning and then in 1972, after merging with the American Institute of Laundering, it became the International Fabricare Institute. Ten years ago, on the association’s 100th anniversary, the name was changed to the Drycleaning and Laundry Institute.
“We updated our logo to make it more modern and dynamic,” said DLI CEO Mary Scalco. “The boxes show the meaning of what we do. The DLI in the far left box says who we are and helps reinforce our short name, DLI. The cleaning machine shows what we do. The hanger shows what our members do and the stylized globe illustrates the scope of the Institute’s reach.”
