New MD of Certification Association for Professional Textile Services

19 March 2018

GERMANY

Dr Timo Hammer has been appointed as the new managing director of the German Certification Association for Professional Textile Services. As a member of the management board, Dr Hammer also has parallel responsibility for the Life Science & Care department at the Hohenstein Group, which covers the subject areas of clothing physiology, biomedicine, research, hygiene and laundry.

The board of the German Certification Association has appointed Andreas Janning as the deputy managing director and he will continue to bring his wealth of experience in the field of operations. At the Hohenstein Group, Janning has also taken charge of the Hohenstein Laundry division and will report to Dr Hammer.

The restructuring of the divisions by the Hohenstein Group as of 14 November 2017 is considered by Dr Hammer to be a clear advantage for the member companies of the German Certification Association.

“The leaner organisational structure and the consistent merging of work areas that deal with similar projects enable us to continue to support our customers with all their textile demands, now and in the future,” said Dr Hammer. “This applies to RAL certified laundries for whom commercial success is closely linked to the knowledge and expertise of the Hohenstein Group.”

He wants to help the RAL certified laundries with real added value so that it is easier for them to manage the challenges within the industry and thus underpin their long-term commercial success. New accents should be set, in particular, in the areas of quality assurance, market processing, and training.
