A remote uniform measuring solution which has been successfully used for sizing PPE and body armour has wider application for the uniform rental sector and has obvious benefits in the Covid-19 social distancing age. The innovation, XpertFit, takes the guesswork out of onsite measuring by providing instant and accurate measurements from a smart device. The process takes less than two minutes to complete from initiating the technology until the time you the product sizing is confirmed.

Safariland and Flying Cross partnered with 3DLOOK to launch a virtual sizing technology for body armour and uniforms called XpertFit. This virtual sizing technology revolutionizes the process in which individual officers are sized for body armour and uniform apparel. Safariland is a registered brand of The Safariland Group, a leading global provider of safety products. Flying Cross is a Fechheimer Brothers Company brand and global leader in public safety uniforms.

This virtual sizing technology revolutionises the process in which individual officers are sized for body armour and uniform apparel. XpertFit offers a touchless, self-measure method of capturing body measurements right from a mobile phone.

Nadya Movchan, of 3DLOOK, explained the technology’s benefits for uniform rental businesses.  “The patented core technology behind 3DLOOK’s contactless body measurement solutions uses a combination of computer vision, neural networks, and 3D statistical modelling to measure the human body. A customer takes two photos on any mobile device, front and side. Then, the photos are processed to obtain landmarks on the user's body and create a unique 3D model of each user. This process takes up to about 30 seconds.

“From there, depending on the company’s needs 3DLOOK’s suite of solutions can either generate personalised fit and size recommendations or deliver the measurements needed for made-to-measure businesses to manufacture perfectly fitted customised clothing.

“As a result, apparel companies can provide perfectly fitted clothes without the need for offline fitting or in-person measuring, while offering a safe and personalized experience.

3DLOOK’s solutions have been adopted by more than 50 brands, retailers, and uniform companies around the world, including Tailored Brands, Burlington Medical as wel as Safariland and Fechheimer.

“This new sizing service really sets apart the level of innovation and depth of resources available to our customers as two leading industry brands,” said Bob Getto, President/CEO of Fechheimer Brothers Company. “XpertFit will provide our dealers and end users value and efficiencies they have not previously experienced until now. In addition, XpertFit is the perfect solution during this heightened time of social distancing.”

The new XpertFit technology will enter phase one of its release in early December to a select group of dealers and customers and will be ready for a full launch in Q2 of 2021. This first-to-market technology is an exclusive for Safariland and Flying Cross through their participating partnering dealers. XpertFit was created in partnership with 3DLOOK, the global leader in AI-first contactless body measuring and fit solutions.

"We've had the pleasure of working with the amazing teams at both Fechheimer and The Safariland Group to deliver this first of a kind simple and accurate fit and sizing solution that delivers a contactless and safe measuring experience. This is a major step in digital transformation for the whole global uniform manufacturing industry,” said Vadim Rogovskiy, Co-founder and CEO at 3DLOOK.
