Daniel Kärrholt, CEO of the Swedish textile services association, Tvatteriforbundet, has a positive message for the Association’s Scandinavian membership, saying: “It is a troublesome world but at least we can meet in person now. We are planning our annual conference in Gothenburg, Sweden, on 19 May.” He has set up a raft of interesting speakers for the event.

The speakers include Ola Serneke, founder of Serneke a large listed company. An entrepreneur driven construction company it is a young company in a tradition-focused industry. As the next generation of construction group, it “challenges the industry, engages the time and inspires the future”.

Johnny Magnusson is the president of the regional executive committee in Västra Götaland and is the top regional politician in West Sweden.

For football fans, there will be the chairman of the board of Degerfors IF, a historic club but very small and an underdog in the top-flight football league.

Apparently, we bought 60% more clothes than in the year 2000, using them for half as long. But it still takes approximately 2,700 litres of water to make one single cotton t-shirt. Vividye says “We give clothes a second chance, and a third, a fourth, a fifth...”. The company received the sustainability price from Textilia in 2020 for its reuse and recycling initiatives.

In other news, Kärrholt reported: “25-26 March was the Conservative Party convention in Örebro, Mid Sweden., where Tvatteriforbundet was an exhibitor. We will also be at the at the Labour conference, too. (The Conservatives are called Moderaterna and Labour, in Government currently, are the Social Democrats.)  We are very active in dialogue with different stakeholders.
