The BÜFA Care 4.0 method is a wet cleaning process that is based on four textile care products: the liquid washing agent Ozerna Polar, the finishing agent Lizerna Carat, the neutraliser Lizerna Sept, and the Lizerna Conditioner.
The method insures laundries can even wet-clean delicate woollen jackets and coats, according to Büfa, with excellent results for the appearance and feel of the fabrics. The complete process and operating schedule is simplified and the overall process time is reduced to just 60 minutes.
Silvia Redmars of textile care firm Textilpflege Redmers in Aurich said her prime concern when switching to Büfa Care 4.0 method a year ago was to be able to wet-clean challenging, ready-to-wear and delicate festive fashion more easily and consistently, and in particular to reduce the amount of ironing and pressing necessary when conventional wet cleaning methods are applied.
Textilpflege Redmers already wet-cleaned many favourite items of clothing for customers, finishing them right down to the smallest detail in careful manual work. “You can imagine how much time that involves when a long dress comes out of the machine relatively crumpled”, she explained. “However, especially evening dresses and other festive garments are frequently so soaked with sweat that you simply have to put them in water to make them really fresh again. Even if we dryclean with solvents, we still have to remove spots and water-soluble stains. And if people have been celebrating wearing these clothes, then that generally means a lot of such marks.”
Silvia Redmers had one question that was particularly important to her – “Can Büfa Care 4.0 above all reduce the amount of finishing work I need to do? Business with festive and evening wear is only worthwhile if we can keep the amount of ironing and pressing work needed as low as possible”.
One year “has brought us a good step forward” she said, adding that: “With the new method we can even wet-clean delicate woollen jackets and coats that then look just as our customers imagine freshly cleaned wool to look.”
The appearance of the fabrics is excellent, she explains. There has been no damage to fibres, form or colouring to date.
“About 70% of our goods are now wet-cleaned, and 30% drycleaned with solvent. That used to be exactly the reverse. Today we only dryclean those goods with solvent that really are better off in solvent.”
