The Marshall Plan

1 November 1999

UK: Laundry and Cleaning News has a new editor, Bill Evett, who takes over from Nicholas Marshall.

Nicholas, who joined the journal team in 1981 as assistant editor, and who became editor four years later, is establishing his own business at the end of this year.

He currently remains on the staff in a consultative capacity.

Nicholas comments: “Leaving LCN after 18 years is quite a wrench, but I have new, exciting opportunities to pursue.

“I have enjoyed tremendous support from the industry, with which I intend to keep in touch, and I am sure Bill will also receive a large measure of support.” Concepts for LCN’s current look were developed by Nicholas who has travelled the world for the magazine, often addressing conferences on marketing and technical issues.

Nicholas’ new business, Clear Communications, will offer a range of technical authoring and corporate communications services, plus training and recruitment support products for business information providers.

Bill brings to LCN his wide experience of engineering, small business management and publishing. “Having both a national and international magazine to run gives me the best of both worlds. I look forward to becoming part of an industry that is obviously both friendly and essential.”
