The value of linen on video

The Textile Services Association (TSA) has released a video as an emotive reminder of a linen item's life. The video can be found on YouTube and on the TSA's website (Commercial Laundry).

The video takes viewers through linen's journey from field to bed, showing where cotton is sourced; the processes an item goes through in an industrial laundry; and how it gets laid in place for use on a hotel or hospital bed.

It's a reminder to those that are in contact with linen every day, like housekeepers and nurses, that the product goes through so much to be there as part of the bed for a guest or patient, so using it to wipe the toilet seats or clean the windows is a waste of time and money, not least disrespectful to all those people that come into contact with it - including themselves.

The Tonrose Group and Wasche Colonia in Germany assisted in the filming.
