USA
Whirlpool Corporation has entered an agreement to acquire American Dryer Corporation (ADC), a privately held company that manufactures and markets laundry equipment for the coin-op, on-premise and industrial sectors and also specialised products such as drying cabinets for fire fighting equipment.

Whirlpool expects to complete the purchase in early July and will integrate the ADC business throughout the rest of the year. The terms of the planned transaction have not been disclosed.

The planned acquisition will give Whirlpool Corporation's commercial laundry business an entry to new markets while building on its strengths of innovation, quality and service says Jeff Fettig, Whirlpool chairman and CEO.

ADC, which is based in Fall River, Massachusetts, employs around 230 staff. It has a 300,000 sq ft factory, engineering and design centre and this will become a valuable part of Whirlpool's manufacturing portfolio.
