Afonwen Laundry has gained a £1million investment to fund further expansion.

The £1m debt investment provided Finance Wales, a subsidiary of the Welsh Assembly Government, will allow the company to build its client base, which includes branded corporate and budget hotels and independent boutique hotels.

The family-owned business, which has sites in North and South Wales and a sister company in Leeds, has already invested £11m in the business since 1999 and opened of its state-of-the-art laundry in Cardiff in June last year.

Its Pwllheli operation is the only laundry in Wales that fully treats its own trade effluent with an on-site treatment works.
