Faced with the problem of an existing two-stage press coming to the end of its working life Daybrook Laundry, Nottingham, turned to Goudkuil to quickly solve the problem, taking delivery of a Passat 831.02 50 kg press to go with an existing 50 kg Milnor CBW.
Daybrook’s chief engineer, Mike Dickens, paid a visit to Holland and selected a compatible left-handed press from Goudkuil’s warehouse stock. The machine was shipped across immediately to keep Daybrook’s production line going until a fully rebuilt machine could be delivered.
Spring Grove Services, Dublin, has purchased a similar machine and Laundrycraft, Wellingborough, has installed a reconditioned Passat 831.01. Laundrycraft’s general manager, Graham Benwell, was said to be delighted with Goudkuil’s UK distributor, Laundryquip, which, with only an eight-hour window to complete the changeover, finished the operation in just six hours.
Martin Carter of Laundryquip, explained to LCN that laundry managers must understand the difference between ‘rebuilding’ and ‘reconditioning’, commenting: “In Goudkuil’s factory, every machine is stripped down to its bare bones and each part is inspected and tested before being replaced with original parts or polished, sprayed and rebuilt.
“They don’t just ‘smarten machines up’. Customers visit the factory and specify exactly what kind of equipment they require and Goudkuil rebuilds to their special order.
“Sometimes, especially with presses, the customer gets more than he could hope for on a new machine. For example, the four guide pillars on new machines have no provision for greasing so Goudkuil adds grease nipples during the rebuilding process. This makes maintenance easier, stops water ingress and helps prevent corrosion.” Goudkuil’s company policy has been devised to reassure launderers with reservations about purchasing reconditioned equipment. The company asks for no deposit with the order and no payment is required until both Goudkuil and the customer are confident that the equipment is performing to specification. Typically this is 30 days after commissioning.
In addition, all machinery rebuilt by Goudkuil carries an unconditional 12 month warranty.
