As the industry gets moving again maybe it is time to review how you keep the wheels turning at top efficiency on the factory floor
Bryant Plastics has been manufacturing high quality materials handling equipment for more than 40 years in the heart of Yorkshire and is the largest manufacturer of laundry and linen cages (roll containers) in the UK. As the industry recovers from the past two years of lockdowns and uncertainties, the company is getting really busy and taking on new staff.
“We are still here, and still the UK’s leading manufacturer and supplier of plastic linen cages,” says Bryant Plastic’s marketing manager Jackie Smith. “We have a great selection of colours for our cages and curtains. Our curtains can be single or split and can be screen printed with a logo, or the logo can be moulded into the cage body which can also have tow bars. We also make and supply transfer cages with shelving which are used predominantly in the NHS. So, pretty much any combination you need can be bespoke supplied. And there are different models and sizes to choose from. The whole outfit, from body to curtains is easy to clean and maintain, an essential consideration.”
As an example of the Bryant Plastics cages’ versatility, the company recently supplied its wares to a busy laundry where space was at a premium, and simply storing the linen during processing took up valuable floor-space. This particular award-winning ‘eco’ laundry group was so busy that it urgently needed additional storage …and where better than in its own back yard? The only problem – how to keep it hygienically clean and safe until it could be delivered to its customers.
"Our weather-resistant plastic roll cages were perfect for the job. After discussion, our popular LC503 laundry cage was selected and, like all our roll cages, it offers easy operative access and the fitted PVC cover gives further protection to the contents indoors or out. Each cage, with a footprint of only 81 x 71cm, provided the laundry with up to 900 litres of much- needed extra storage and the cages’ strong construction coupled with the right choice of castor enabled goods to be moved around both easily and hygienically.” says Smith. “Soon after delivery of the first consignment of Bryant laundry cages we were delighted to receive an e-mail from the laundry's CEO saying: 'LOVE the plastic cages. Could you help me with an order for more to be delivered across three different sites...'. "
If you are looking for rental options, Palletower is Europe’s largest stockist of rental products for the logistics, warehousing, and distribution industries, including laundries. More than 250,000 items are in stock, says the company, all ready for immediate despatch. Just say the word, and your storage problems are solved.
Why rent rather than buy? Palletower says that capital expenditure control is vital for modern businesses. “Anything that enables you to minimise upfront costs and spread budgets throughout the year is a great option for any business. Perhaps you experience seasonal demand or sudden busy periods, but don’t need products on a permanent basis. That’s why so many companies prefer to rent our logistics products rather than buy them outright.
Palletower can provide roll pallets, plastic box pallets, stillages, hypacages, retention units and more. “You’re also welcome to choose from short, medium or long-term lease arrangements—whatever suits your business requirements,” says Palletower.
