A North Wales launderette worker was wrongly sacked, an industrial tribunal has ruled.
Joan Jones, who worked at the Dolly Tub Launderette in Wrexham, was not given written reasons for her dismissal, the tribunal, sitting in Shrewsbury, heard.
The tribunal was told by Mrs Jones that Faridah Doust became dissatisfied with her work after service washes were delayed when Mrs Jones was forced to reduce the number of machines in use because of problems with the water supply. Two days later Miss Doust gave her notice to leave her job.
Miss Doust denied giving Mrs Jones notice, and also denied that she was in charge of the launderette while her brother was on holiday.
But tribunal chairman Stuart Williams ruled that Miss Doust had assumed charge of the launderette and had in fact given Mrs Jones notice. A further tribunal hearing will rule on compensation.
