French laundry specialist Danube has developed a barrier washer for applications where hygienic linen handling is a priority. Suitable for use in clean-rooms and hospitals, the Asep 2000 separates loading and unloading so that operators on the clean side of the laundry need have no contact with the unwashed linen.
The machine is also designed to cut running costs. The Aqua Mix system optimises hot and cold water intakes to reach the desired temperature, reducing both cycle times and energy use. The 800mm drum and 1000 rpm spin ensure effective water extraction.
Microprocessor control offers a range of cycles and the programming can be protected from unauthorised changes.
The drum is fitted with large sumps, reducing oscillation in the tub and helping to avoid the machine going out of balance, in turn reducing wear and tear. The machine does not require a sealing base as it is suspended by helical springs as well as hydro-pneumatic shock-absorbers and Danube shock-absorber runners.
Safety is also a feature of the design. Water and moving parts are located on opposite sides of the machine, while electrical components are above and shielded from the risk of splashing.
