Under this directive, which will be translated into legislation an national level, the processing of re-usable textiles from hospital operating theatres is subject to the same regulations as those for processing of surgical instruments.
The MediLine, a development of Jensen-Senking’s Universal SL machine, meets all the requirements for cleaning and disinfecting category IIa medical devices, and has gained the appropriate certification from
Hygcen, the leading German hygiene test laboratory, which is exclusively accredited for the hygiene certification of tunnel washers.
Introducing the machine to Jensen distributors and representatives from its sales and service centres, Jensen-Senking’s Bo Rasmussen said that machine had been developed, not as is more usual, in response to customer demand, but to meet increasingly stricter hygiene requirements, in particular those of the directive.
In a situation where concern about infections such as SARS and avian flu was growing, hygiene requirements would become ever more important. The machine is ahead of its time, in effect it opens up a new market, but, said Jesper Munch Jensen, “We have to preach the gospel.” Thanking Jensen Senking and its engineering team, he said he was very proud to see the machine.
