Carrington Textiles’ Tomboy textile, designed for production of tough, long lasting and comfortable manufacturing workwear continues to be a best seller for the workwear textiles expert.

The Tomboy fabric was originally developed as a more durable alternative to 100% cotton products and is one of the textile manufacturer’s best-selling products due to its versatility and performance.

At a weight of 245gsm Tomboy has 65% polyester and 35% cotton in its composition, making up a fabric that is durable, comfortable and retains its smart appearance after multiple laundering, said the company.

Its versatility and wide range of colours available make Tomboy an excellent product for workwear in the manufacturing industry including aerospace, automobile, defence, fast moving consumer goods and construction, just to name a few.

Paul Farrell, sales and marketing director at Carrington Textiles said: “Tomboy is a product that has been in our workwear range for many decades. We are not surprised we sell millions of metres of it each year as it’s a textile that can be used for uniforms in many industries from manufacturing and heavy industry to utilities.” The fabric also offers ultraviolet protection, excellent colour fastness and EN 20471 High Visibility colours.
