Christeyns supports apprenticeships in the laundry sector

UK
National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) is a key event that highlights the importance and relevance of apprenticeships and Christeyns is committed to supporting the Bradford initiative in the company’s home town in the UK and its aim to celebrate apprentices and the positive impact they make on businesses, the community and the wider economy.

Providing young people with the right skills and opportunities is vital for the future prosperity of both Christeyns and the industry, and the company views its apprenticeship scheme as a crucial part of the recruitment strategy. Christeyns’ goal is to offer permanent roles to all apprentices who go through their scheme.

Christeyns has apprenticeships in place in various departments with an annual intake of new apprentices, usually in early summer.

Jack Brent joined the firm in June on a temporary contract in the role of purchase ledger controller to help out with maternity leave cover. He has since then moved into the role of trainee finance assistant and will be starting his AAT level 3 in March through an apprenticeship.

In September last year Violet Hardwick took on a two-year Business Administration Apprenticeship studying towards a L3 Business Administration qualification. During this time, Hardwick will spend time in various departments across all our operational units.

Isabel Hardwick is now in the second year of her Chemistry Degree at Bradford University as part of her four-year Apprenticeship as a Quality Control Technician.

Danny Clarke and Tom Grundell commenced HGV Driver Apprenticeships in September 2021 and, following 18 months of training and immersion into the business, will soon be out on the road delivering chemicals to Christeyns’ clients.

Harry Coop, recent winner of the LADA Apprentice of the Year, joined Christeyns in September 2019 and is now in the final year of his chemistry degree at Bradford University.

Bradley Jones started with Christeyns in powder production as a chemical operative via an agency. In late 2021, he joined us on a two-year Business Administration Apprenticeship studying towards his L3 Business Administration qualification which he has now completed. Brad will now start his AAT level 3 in March through an apprenticeship.

“Our apprenticeship scheme is key for succession planning, identifying and growing talent to fill leadership and business-critical positions in the future. This helps to keep the business at the top of its game,” states HR Manager Sarah Stringer.
