It is with sadness we report that John Barry has died after a short illness.
John was greatly respected throughout the textile care industry and from humble beginnings as a cinema attendant and then manager he joined Loud & Western (now Sunlight) as shops manager. John's hard work and patient nature earned him the position of general manager at Westerns Laundry in Drayton Park and it was here that he met his future wife, Rosemarie, with whom he was to share the rest of his life.
John later joined Neil & Spencer where he made many friends. His final achievement was to help establish the Royal Jersey Laundry Group and only a week before he passed away he was there offering valuable advice. John was a true gentleman and honest friend to all who knew him and he will be sorely missed.
