The company has raised the bar with $35 million investment resulting in advancements in durability, efficiency and customisation for the vended and on-premise laundry segments, says Maytag manufacturer.
ExpoDetergo last month was the staging post for the launch of Whirlpool Corporation’s Maytag Multi-Load washer. The new machines, available in 20-65 lb, are designed to handle the industry’s toughest loads in the vended and on-premise laundry (OPL) markets.
The washers will be manufactured in the newly upgraded, 300,000-square-foot Whirlpool Corporation factoryin Fall River, Massachusetts, from whence they are ready to be shipped to any region in the world.
The facility recently acquired a production line dedicated solely to the Maytag brand’s rigid and soft-mount multi-load washers to support strong customer demand for Whirlpool-built commercial laundry equipment.
As part of the $35 million investment, the manufacturing facility was also recently upgraded to include more resources and an enhanced call center.
“The new Maytag Multi-Load washer demonstrates the commitment we’re making in the commercial laundry space, by offering international customers the ability to configure their order to meet their power, installation and application requirements, with additional enhancements to maximize their operational investment,” said Trey Northrup, general manager of commercial laundry for Whirlpool Corporation. “This new washer also strengthens our commercial laundry portfolio, which includes our top and front-load single-load machines, combination stack washer/dryer, and stack dryers, providing a broad offering for vended, multi-housing and OPL applications.”
Enhancements to the Maytag® Multi-Load Washer include:
- Intelligent controls: With 99 cycle combinations, OPL operators have the flexibility to customize wash cycles from formulas to spin time to fit a facility’s specific needs. Controls also allow operators to determine which detergents and solutions are used during every cycle, and program them to release on-time and with the right proportions based on the load.
- Optimised profitability: The flexibility of intelligent controls allows cycles to be priced individually or programmed for time-of-day pricing, maximizing revenue potential. Additional cycle modifiers, including hotter temperatures or additional rinses, can be priced individually to further allow vended store owners the ability to manage profitability. Customers also have the ability to select a preferred cycle and option based on individual wash needs.
- Commercial-grade durability: Designed with a Variable Frequency Drive System, and commercial-grade motor, the washers are fitted with a 304 stainless-steel drum, commercial-grade, NSK bearings, cast-iron cross piece and hub, and cast-aluminum pulley, to help increase machine longevity and give owners the durability their facility needs to operate daily.
- Maytag Connect 360°™ Technology Laundry Management System: With a Wi-Fi enabled** system, Maytag® Connect 360°™ Technology gives vended store owners and OPL operators the ability to efficiently manage and monitor their operations in real-time. The Maytag-designed software provide diagnostics, notifications, and revenue reports to keep each machine working at full capacity.
- The Maytag® Multi-Load Washer is backed by a Maytag® limited parts warranty*, with 10/5 years for the vended market and 5/3 years for the OPL market.
The Maytag® Multi-Load Washer is available now with phased rollouts planned through mid-2019. Whirlpool works with 120 distributors in more than 90 countries and is recruiting partners to further strengthen its commercial footprint.
