DMU research: Healthcare workers washing their uniforms at home put themselves and others at risk from harmful pathogens
UK Recent research from De Montfort University (DMU) puts serious weight behind calls for the NHS to revise its laundry guidelines for healthcare workers currently allowed to wash their uniforms at home and consider using on-site fit for purpose industrial machines or external commercial laundry services, to improve patient safety and control the spread of hospital-acquired infections and antibiotic-resistant pathogens.
