Problem: Following washing, the cuffs to this shirt became bubbled and wrinkled.
Cause: Cuffs and collars are generally supported with a fusible interlining. For this to remain intact during washing it is essential that the fusing process is correctly carried out in manufacture and that the shrinkage potential of the various layers in the laminate are closely matched. On this particular shirt, the interlining appears to have shrunk by more than the outer fabric causing the puckering and excess of cloth now visible.
Responsibility: Provided the shirt has been washed at the correct temperature, the blame in this case should lie with the garment maker.
