A range of self-levelling laundry trolleys, available from Simons Reeve, will help laundries, hospitals and other establishments ensure that staff are less likely to suffer back strain and related injuries, thereby reducing compensation claims.
The plastic trolleys, just one of the product ranges on show, have been specially designed and produced to reduce bending and lifting strain by incorporating a levelling base platform. Each time an item is removed, the platform height adjusts to ensure that the linen is at the top of the trolley. The trolley castors are in a diamond configuration to make them easy to manoeuvre.
The trolleys are available in 150kg and 200kg sizes. They are made from a one-piece polyethylene moulding, which is less likely to cause snags, and have a zinc-plated chassis. The self-levelling base has highly durable springs for long service life.
The trolleys are being used at Barnsley District General Hospital. Garth Furmage, health and safety manager said, “ It is important that we afford the same level of care to all operatives within the health service. Any product that reduces the risk of back strain helps us achieve this goal.”
