The nine-month programme is run by Skillfast-UK, the Sector Skills Council for fashion and textiles, to help women develop their technical and management skills, so they can progress within their company and to higher-level jobs.

Laundry and drycleaning employers based in England can apply for training grants of up to £600 per woman employee. Johnsons Apparelmaster is one of more than 200 companies to have benefited from the Women and Work programme, which has seen 1,600 women improve their skills.
