Global textiles company, Vision Support Services, has lent its support to a youth initiative by becoming Gold Patrons of Blackburn Youth Zone (BYZ).
The company has committed to become a supporter of BYZ, whose aim is to create a more positive future for young people of Blackburn with Darwen, by pledging support for the foreseeable future.
The youth centre has a growing membership of almost 3,000 young people aged 5 to 25 and receive more than 900 visits a week.
The mission of the centre is to promote community cohesion, skills and aspirations and health and wellbeing to the young people in the borough.
Blackburn with Darwen faces one of the highest income deprivation levels affecting children in England and Wales and it is inside the worst 10% nationally.
BYZ hopes to provide a space for young people to go and provides more than 20 bespoke activities and projects every day.
Chairman of Vision Support Services, Dan Wright, said: “We, at Vision, are honoured to lend our support to BYZ. We try to support families, children and young people in every country in which we operate and have previously supported charities such as The Knowledge Foundation in Pakistan and Kids at School in Nepal so it made absolute sense to support a cause in our home town, too.”
“We’re very proud to become a Gold Patron and are looking forward to supporting the work that BYZ does, in whatever way we can.”
