Advance name lives on in Cyprus

21 December 2005

Lee Cummins worked for Advance Services in the UK for 45 years and was managing director when it became part of Initial in 1985. The surprise invitation to the Cyprus company's 40th anniversary celebrations at Le Meridien Hotel, Limassol, was a pleasant reminder of his time with Advance.

He told LCN that he learnt that Advance, Cyprus was started by Pambos Georgiades in 1965 when he was appointed as Cyprus agent for Advance Towelmaster Service. The agency was considered to be one of the most efficient and customer-oriented outside the UK.

Since then Georgiades has built the company and extended its product range and today Advance Washroom Services is highly regarded as a first class supplier of washroom and hygiene services.

Lee Cummins says the celebrations were attended by over 200 guests including Tony Filer of the Universal Towel Company, who had requested an invitation for Lee.
