Afonwen water treatment plant gets underway

1 February 2007

To finance the work, the Pwllheli based family-run laundry has received six figure funding from Bank of Scotland Corporate and a grant from the European Regional Selective Assistance scheme run by the Welsh Assembly Government.

As already reported in Laundry and Cleaning News (March 2006) Afonwen has taken the decision to build its own waste-water treatment plant to comply with changed EU rules for waste-water discharge and to avoid relocation as none of the local water treatment plants could handle the volumes to the necessary standards.
