Alexandra buys de Baer

3 November 2005

Alexandra chief executive Julian Budd said de Baer’s strong brand, high quality staff and blue chip client list meant the company “fitted perfectly into our strategy for profitable growth both organically and, as in this case, through earnings-enhancing acquisitions.”

The de Baer company, founded by award-winning businesswoman Jacqueline de Baer, is well established in the hotel, restaurant and catering sector. The experience and track record of the de Baer team was fundamental to the deal, with its reputation of having the highest standards of service and account management in the business, said Budd.

Alexandra will continue to run de Baer as a separate business focussing on its strengths of design innovation and quality service.

Julian Budd added: “Alexandra brings a world of experience to de Baer and provides it with a strong operating platform together with a healthy balance sheet providing excellent financial stability. Our latest customer service systems and technology enable us to manage accounts and trade virtually anywhere in the world.”

Jacqueline de Baer said: “I look forward to working with our colleagues at Alexandra to take the combined group to an even higher level, consolidating its position as the UK leader in tailored corporate clothing.”
