Adjusted pre-tax profit fell by 9.9% to £2.8m in the six months to 31 July against £3.1m the year before, while revenue was 3.8% lower at £39.17m.
Group chief executive Julian Budd said the group had entered a period of consolidation following two acquisitions and their integration.
Both acquisitions performed well, with Prima sales up by 7% and de Baer 3% in the first half.
"The second half has started well and given the phasing of corporate activity, we are confident we will achieve a satisfactory full year performance,” said Budd.
