AMA builds senior management team

2 April 2001

Italian dry-cleaning manufacturer, AMA has started to build its management team and formulate a strategy, following last year’s changes in ownership.

The new team is led by Lino Carrer, the technical director is Carlo Innocenti and commercial manager Alessandro Soffritti.

Impact

The team is already having an impact. Factory space is being expanded and a new showroom is being built. Mr Innocenti has rationalised production methods, leading not only to improved working practices but also to cost reductions which are being passed on to distributors worldwide.

Commenting on the changes, Peter Crane, md of UK distributor Duval of Romsey, said: “We are delighted at these developments at AMA. What they have been able to achieve since last December is truly amazing and translates into lower prices for our customers in the UK.” AMA and Duval have confirmed their commitment to working together.” Lino Carrer agrees:“ Duval has worked closely with AMA Universal for over 25 years and in many respects functions more like a division of AMA than a traditional distributor. They manage the UK market very well and AMA simply couldn’t imagine a future without Duval” he said.

The two companies are working together on Clean UK to be held in June at the Wembley Conference Centre. The line-up will be similar to that shown in Frankfurt last year, but some surprises are also promised.
