A new automated liquid dosing system, JonPro Liquid Laundry, is claimed by its manufacturer, SC Johnson Professional, to be the first to offer bespoke programming for individual washing machines.
The liquid laundry system comprises three products—JonPro Liquid Detergent, Jon Pro Fabric Destainer and JonPro Fabric Softener—plus a control unit and a dispensing pump.
The control unit enables the operator to choose one of up to eight different preprogrammed formulas on each machine, ensuring that the optimum dose is used for every wash.
This reduces product wastage and gives staff greater control over dilution levels, it is stated.
The tamper-proof control unit also provides detailed management information, such as the number of washes done at each setting, cost per resident and washes per day.
The three-product system is designed to offer a high standard of cleaning and stain removal, especially when compared to the traditional two-product arrangement.
Mark Muir, laundry supervisor at the Carlton Highland Hotel in Edinburgh, was one of the prelaunch testers. He comments: “The stain removal is much better because there are three products in the system—destainer as well as detergent and fabric softener—and we also have far more control over the dosing levels.”
