Berendsen names Drummond as successor to Ventress

Berendsen, the textile and laundry services provider, has announced Peter Ventress will retire as a director with effect from 31 July and that the company has appointed James Drummond as to take over as chief executive.

Drummond, previously chief executive of the Avincis Group, will join the board on 1 July and after a handover period, will assume the role of CEO on 1 August.

Berendsen chairman Iain Ferguson, thanked Peter Ventress for his excellent leadership over the past six years: "The team at Berendsen has delivered significant shareholder value and created a business with continuing momentum towards achieving its strategic objectives.

He added: "We are delighted to appoint James to succeed Peter. James has the right skills ane experience to lead Berendsen during the next stage of its development."
