Berendsen transforms its Wakefield laundry

13 March 2014

A multimillion-pound investment by Berendsen has transformed production at its Wakefield laundry. Her Majesty's Deputy Lieutenant Stan Hardy officially opened the modernised West Yorkshire plant on Tuesday 4 March.

The modernisation, which took place in under a year, introduces Berendsen's CL2000 production concept, used widely in its European operations. Production is organised vertically in small multi-skilled, self-managed teams rather than in the traditional arrangement where each member works at a single dedicated task.

LCN editor Janet Taylor attended the opening the full report will appear in the April 2014 issue of LCN.
