Development at the Büfa Group is progressing well, with three production sites in and around Oldenburg presently being modernised and expanded. At a press conference, the company revealed that further investments in safety technology and digitalisation are planned.

“Büfa has increased its sales volume by 30% in the last five years,” said CEO Felix Thalmann. “Therefore, our production sites have reached their capacity limits.” Structural work began at Büfa Reinigungssysteme in February and the concrete walls of the new building are now installed. Construction work is expected to be complete by the beginning of 2018.

Approximately 10 million Euros is being invested in the expansion, which covers an area of 3, 200m2. The work will optimise operational processes and eliminate bottlenecks, allowing the company to profit from its growth prospects. The investment is also seen as being a commitment to the Northwest Region of Germany, securing jobs locally rather than relocating them abroad.

The new building will also house a state-of-the-art laboratory and technology centre, where product innovations can be tested. “Here we offer training possibilities for our customers – concerning sustainable application procedures, for example, or our new ecological products whose share in our product range is aimed to substantially rise during the next few years,” said Thomas Siemer, CEO of Büfa Reinigungssysteme. “Thus, we can offer even better customized products and strengthen our ecological focus”,

Büfa also revealed last year’s business figures for the entire Büfa Group. “Despite an increased sales volume, the group’s turnover of approximately 235 million Euros remained at the same level as the previous year; a situation which can primarily be attributed to price developments in procurement and the target market,” said Ralf Ramke, CFO of the Büfa group. “Büfa has a solid financial base, which is very important given the high investments in our production sites within the next years.”
