The company received its third certification on 24 January this year. The BS OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety certification highlights the importance that Bourne Textile services attaches to ensuring the health and welfare of its employees.

Bourne Textile Services gained its first BSI certification for ISO 9001:2000 Quality, then known as BS 5750, in September 1991. This covers the full range of processes including textile purchase, process control, delivery and customer service.

In the 1990s the company bought a site on the outskirts of Bourne to construct a purpose-built factory and chairman Hedley Stroud said that the directors had decided to take the opportunity to become an environmentally conscious operation. The company would therefore work to achieve further certifications.

The move to the Cherry Holt Road site was completed in 2005 with installations of energy efficient systems and re-cycling equipment. In June 2008 Bourne Textile Services was awarded ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management certification.
