Bridgnorth business gets top marks

He e-mailed LCN and said that having been in the business for nearly 40 years, he always looks through the window of any drycleaners he sees both at home and abroad, but often finds they look similar to each other.

He continued: "imagine our surprise when we came across Bridgnorth Dry Cleaners in Shropshire. This is a large double-fronted shop which I presume does repairs and also cleans bridal wear. In view was a sewing machine, and a wedding dress alongside a bridegroom's outfit, complete with top hat, and a bottle of champagne. This is quite definitely the best shop we have ever seen to date in 40 years. I would award it top marks."

After reading Brian Morehen's email, LCN spoke to James Wood who runs the shop, with some help from father John Wood.

James told the journal that the business has been open for eight years. He has a good basis for his career having taken a degree in textile design at Nottingham Trent University.

The business specialises in wedding gowns, cleaning them in a hydrocarbon machine, though it handles a full range of cleaning including curtains, and has a small scale laundry, as well as offering a repair service.
