Bruton to be keynote speaker for TSA conference

John Bruton, a former Irish Prime Minister (Taoiseach) and EU Ambassador to the USA, will be the keynote speaker at the Textile Service Association's national conference, at the Westbury Hotel, Dublin on Friday 3 October 2014.
As Irish Prime Minister from 1994 to 1997, Bruton helped transform the Irish economy into the "Celtic Tiger", one of the fastest growing economies in the world, with an annual average rate of 8.7%.
He presided over a successful Irish EU Presidency in 1996 and helped finalise the Stability and Growth Pact, which governs the management of the single European currency, the Euro.
Bruton was appointed EU Ambassasor to the USA in 2004 and served in that role until 2009.
In May 2010 Bruton became chairman of the financial services body, IFSC Ireland.
