Canadian hotel adopts Fujitsu RFID system

11 February 2010

The advanced tracking system, which is specifically designed for laundry and textile care applications, was developed by Foundation LogicSystems with tags supplied by Fujitsu Frontech North America. It lets hotel staff monitor outgoing and incoming laundry quickly and accurately. It also reduces the costs of replacing missing items and the operational costs associated with manual tracking.

The soft and flexible WTA511 UHF tag is less than two inches long and can be sewn or heat-sealed into garments. It is extremely durable and can withstand hundreds of washings, high temperatures and harsh chemicals and also the pressure exerted by uniform presses.

The UHF system allows closely-stacked garments to be read simultaneously in seconds with a reading range of up to six feet.
