Amid the COVID-19 outbreak, Swansea commercial laundry CanDo Laundry Services is now manufacturing face masks for businesses and individuals looking to get back to work.

The re-usable masks are made using scrap cotton/polyester linen that otherwise would have been sold off to make cleaning rags, and have been designed to be cleaned industrially over 200 times.

The SafeFace non-medical masks are also constructed with an additional pleat for added comfort and flexibility and can be worn on both sides.

Daniel Shepherd, managing director of CanDo, said: “We have been producing thousands of these masks to bring the UK economy back to work, and with a sense of confidence.”

CanDo claims to be able to manufacture up to 10,000 units a week and is expecting to be manufacturing the SafeFace mask for up to 12 months, until working life gets back to normal. Available in 2- or 3-ply, the adjustable straps ensure a universal fit. They are also latex and glue free to stay asymptomatic.
