The board elected vice chairman Robert J Kohlhepp, to replace Farmer as chairman and this decision was approved during a board meeting following the company's annual shareholders' meeting on 20 October.
Farmer established Cintas Corporation in 1968. The company has grown from a small uniform and towel supply company to become the nation's largest uniform company and business-to-business services provider with annual sales approaching $4billion.
